I took one apart (and looked inside another one) and found that the woofer is from RadioShack (Cat. No 40-1036 with 60 W RMS and 120 W Max and 8 Ohms Impedance). See the second to last photo down below. I'm sorry but I don't know much else about them. I don't know if Altec Lansing used the RadioShack components to put them together or what.

These came out of a Movie Theater that recently closed.
Why on Earth would a theater use those. I guess poverty makes us do strange things.

The RS woofers could be an upgrade. No doubt the answer to rotten foam on the originals.
